When it comes to adjusting the placement of your MySense sensors, we understand that flexibility is key. Here are some helpful tips for removing or repositioning sensors based on their type:
Repositioning Sensors with Blue-Tack or Light Tape:
During the installation process, we recommend using blue-tack or light tape to position a new sensor before using the provided adhesive pad for a permanent attachment.
If you ever need to move a sensor, follow these steps:
- Unclip the body of the sensor from the attached backplate.
- Gently press down on the ridged thumb press at the top of the sensor.
- Pull the sensor body toward you, leaving the backplate attached.
- If the sensor is stuck, use a hair dryer on low heat to warm the backplate for a couple of minutes.
- Carefully pull the sensor away, and any remaining adhesive can be cleaned with warm soapy water or cleaning alcohol.
Removing Vibration and Door Sensors with 3M Adhesive Stickers:
For sensors attached with strong 3M adhesive stickers, use one of the following methods if removal is necessary:
Hair Dryer Method:
Follow steps 1-3 as mentioned above.
Warm the backplate area with a hair dryer on low heat for a couple of minutes.
Gently pull the sensor away; any remaining adhesive can be cleaned off with warm soapy water or cleaning alcohol.
Non-Sharp Knife Method:
Follow steps 1-3 as mentioned above.
Use a non-sharp knife, like a palette knife, to slide underneath the adhesive layer.
Apply a bit more force if needed, and clean any residue with warm soapy water or cleaning alcohol.
Other Sensors (Bed Sensor, Home-Hub, Wearable):
These sensors are not physically attached and can be unplugged and moved as required.
Note that the home-hub should remain connected at all times for data processing.
Moving MySense to a New Home:
If you're relocating MySense to a new home, sensors may require new 3M or equivalent pads for reattachment. These can be easily obtained from a local hardware store.
Reconnecting Home-Hub and Sensors:
The home-hub and sensors will remain paired, eliminating the need for reconfiguration. Simply reconnect the home-hub, and the sensors will automatically come back online when within range.
