Once you have you have received MySense box you need to set up an account on the app and install the sensors. The installation process will take about 40 minutes and includes the following steps:
1. Download the MySense app from the Apple or Google store.
2. Plug in the home-hub.
All MySense sensors send information to the home-hub, which then securely passes the information on to our analytics platform. The home-hub will need to be plugged in to a power socket with the power supply adapter to start the onboarding process. Find a central location between living areas. This home-hub has a SIM card so you don't have to connect to your WiFi. However, if mobile coverage is poor, we do recommend using the ethernet cable in the box to connect it to your broadband router. Check the coverage in your area here.
3. Register the home-hub.
Open the MySense app and choose "New set up". Then tap the "Scan the QR code" button and aim your camera at the QR code located under the home-hub (at the bottom). Alternatively, you can enter the home-hub sign-up license key manually. This key consists of five sets of five characters, separated by hyphens, and it's also located under the home-hub.
4. Set up an account.
After registering the home-hub, we will ask you to set up one account for yourself and another for your next of kin. The next of kin is a person nominated by you that has full access to manage your data, to complete your health questionnaire and to manage your sensors.
If you're setting up an account for someone else instead, we will ask you to register an account with us (as a next of kin), as well as to register an account for the person that is having MySense installed.
5. Set up the sensors.
After setting up an account, the app will then take you through where and how to position the sensors for a successful installation. The app will also show you the signal strength of each of the sensors. Where there is no signal you may want to move the home-hub to a more central location.
To use the wearable for the first time, it needs to be charged. Disconnect the strap to reveal a small USB connector with gold strips, which needs to be inserted into the USB cable and plug supplied. The watch will display an animation of the battery filling up and the message "charging" once the USB inserted into the cable.
6. Input health data
After setting up the sensors, you (or your next of kin on your behalf) will be asked to complete a brief health questionnaire. This information allows MySense to give you personalised insights and notifications. You can edit this health information at any time in the "Profile" section of the app.
7. Explore the MySense app.
The MySense app is where you can view your MySense data and where you will receive notifications that inform you of any changes in your routine, unusual activity or wellbeing status.
The app also allows you to maintain MySense, including:
- checking if your sensors are online
- adding someone to your Circle
- watching videos to guide you through the installation process
8. Add circle members
In the Circle section of the MySense app, you can add members for added support and oversight of your data. You'll just need their email or mobile number. An invitation will be sent and they'll have 24 hours to accept. Keep in mind that you are fully in control of your own data so you can choose what your Circle members get to see and what notifications they will receive.
9. Installation complete.
Congratulations, you're all set! Note that it may take a few days for all sensor data to become available in the app. If you encounter any blank charts on the Insights page, it simply means that we do not yet have enough readings. It can take up to 28 days after the installation for a full calibration. After that you'll start receiving valuable insights and notifications.
You can ask us any questions by emailing support@mysense.ai, calling +44 20 3322 1838, or via our Help Centre in app or on our website.
